I don’t know why, I feel this way,
It’s like i can’t control myself,
ANYMORE,
I fear for my life, I’m tired of fighting off these feelings,
I have, I feel like shit,
Have I ever told you, i fucking hate myself?
And have i ever told you, I don’t give a fuck,
About myself,
I am a curse, I am a curse,
I’ve lived and made mistakes, I’ve died and had regrets,
So is there only one way out?
I’ve lived and made mistakes, I’ve died and had regrets,
So is there only one way out?
I’ll put myself to sleep,
And when I sleep, I dream about what I can never have,
FUCK
And when I wake up, I am torn,
And when I wake up, I am nothing,
I am self loathing.

Wasting Away is the recently released EP from Bristol hardcore band Failure To Follow. Over just nine months the band have made a name for themselves sharing the stage with the likes of Trash Talk, Bury Tomorrow, Hang The Bastard and Polar and secured themselves an endorsement from RT Custom Drums so it’s safe to say that we expected big things from them.
The first track B.C.H.C is an instrumental intro and Failure To Follow definitely start as they mean to go on the track crashing in with a heavy brutal punk-tinged riff. The Burn then picks up where it left off introducing raw screamed vocals brimming with passion and contrasting their heavy riffs with melodic choruses. No Vision kicks in and we are again met with a similar format of fast punky riffs split up by the occasional melodic moment. Theres no denying that Failure To Follow have talent but without any variation their straight – up hardcore style could start to be becoming a bit unrelenting. The next track No Unity follows in the same fashion although the track can definitely be praised for the quieting down in the choruses to put the vocals more in the spotlight.
The fifth track Strike Back opens with a catchy riff andit’s where the EP starts to pick up again. Here the band begin to make more of the melodic elements that they mix amongst the heavier hardcore riffs and if definitely works in their favour. They end on a high point with the last track Wasting Away featuring a well executed melodic opening and by far the catchiest chorus of the EP.
Overall there’s plenty of evidence here to suggest that Failure To Follow are worth a listen. Their very well executed punk-tinged melodic hardcore will definitely take them places. Remember you can download their full EP for FREE via ITG Records HERE

Started up in September ‘10, Four guys came together to produce ball busting hardcore, with a melodic edge.
Over the year they’ve been together so far, they’ve honed their sound to produce heavy riffs, catchy vocals and melodic choruses all with that hardcore feel and brutality.
